Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a FDA-cleared, non-invasive therapy that treats a wide variety of conditions. For this therapy, The patient breaths 100% oxygen while laying in a chamber that is pressurized at 1.4 ATA (5.7 PSI). The goal is to fill the blood vessels with an abundant amount of oxygen-rich blood and force that oxygen deep into the soft tissues of the body. HBOT was first used in the 1940's for deep sea divers suffering from decompression sickness. In the decades to follow, researchers discovered other positive benefits.
What are the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Faster recovery time: HBOT speeds up recovery by increasing oxygen levels in the blood and tissues, which enhances the body's natural healing processes. Athletes use HBOT to speed up recovery from delayed onset muscle soreness caused by exercise.
Injuries you can treat: Research shows HBOT is known to have positive effects for conditions including concussions, whiplash injuries, traumatic brain injuries, wound/burn healing, gangrene, carbon monoxide poisoning, decompression sickness, chemotherapy/radiation injuries, severe anemia, crush injuries, stroke injuries, loss of vision, Alzheimers & dementia, chronic fatigue, chronic inflammation, aging, Diabetes, Autism, Fibromyalgia, Lyme's disease, Cerebral palsy, COVID-19, and cancer.
